My name is Sonia. The work I do is much inspired by the Native American Seneca teachings of Grandmother Twylah Nitsch who is the teacher of my teacher Ogäoëno.

Part of the teachings is getting to know the Medicine Wheels of Animals. Each animal carries unique qualities, skills and abilities. Seneca teachings transform that information into the guidelines for human beings. We can learn from our four-legged, winged, crawling and swimming relatives how to open our hearts and minds and gain clarity to become better people.

Another part of the teaching is also knowledge of the Medicine Wheels of Colours. Every colour represents certain quality- thus the colours of the pieces I do very often picture what a person needs at a moment i.e.- yellow- Love, Purple- Gratitude, etc. and there is so much more...

I'm in no position to share more of the teachings online, however they live through What I do and How I do it. The teaching is always integrated in my work- whatever I do: skirts, necklaces or paintings- it's always there. None of them is ever repeated- they are all unique and personal.
